Boots In Spring

Over the knee boots might not be incredibly suitable for the summer weather, but until the temperature reaches the twenties I still class it as Spring! Strappy dresses bring the boots out of the dreary winter without being too much with the increasing sunshine!

Rediscovering Forgotten Loves

These heels are about three maybe going on four years old and I had forgotten I had them! They were a solid must buy the second I saw them, and I'm annoyed that I've missed out on so many wears, by them living in the back of my wardrobe. But now they've been pulled out and won't be forgotten about again!

What have you forgotten about in your wardrobe?

Treating Myself

I'm a poor little bean.
I work part time for not an awful lot whilst I'm studying to be an accountant, so sadly I've had to stop spending my money on things unless necessary!

For a fashion blogger not having bought any clothing since September is a big thing, it's tested my self control and made me a little sad but this month I decided to treat myself as I fell in love.

It's been a long time since I've seen an item that has caused such intense feelings of jealously, that when I saw these trousers I decided it was time to end my spending ban and treat myself.

Perfect colour, perfect fit, they are the trousers I've been searching for and will be a key foundation to my Spring/Summer wardrobe!

Little Life Update

Back in January with my outlook on the new year I was determined to resolve some issues in 2016. The biggest of which was my health. I'll be the first to admit I didn't throw myself into that one as whole heartedly as I should have but after weeks of acute migraines and constant tiredness I decided one last bid for the doctors to find a reasoning. Fast forward and two weeks later when I get my blood tests results, I was told there's nothing out of the ordinary, and I was out the door.

Diet is such a powerful influence on your body and your health that its been the area I've been focused on but I clearly wasn't getting something right so I decided to try Kinesiology.

I know its not everyone's cup of tea and I'm expecting some kind of reaction to putting this on the internet, but it makes an awful lot of sense for me. Kinesiology works by measuring the strength or weakness of your body when interacting with foods, food groups, vitamins, minerals and pollutants. For me, my reactions were to dairy, yeast, mushrooms, bananas, tomatoes, oranges and egg whites.

-

Experiencing repulsive after tastes with dairy I have been a strong almond milk and soya yoghurt lover for a long time, so apart from steering clear of my beloved cheese toasties this one will be easy! Dairy is a main suspect in my migraines and digestive issues.

Having digestive issues for years I've always presumed gluten had been my problem, but after noticing I was still having difficulties after being completely gluten free I was lost, yeast hadn't even entered my mind. I'm now going to have to get my bake on as wraps and soda bread are the only bread products I'll be having! Yeast is again linked to digestive issues.

The next four are the upsetting ones. I love fruit, and if I could, I would live off it. Vegetables I'm not as big a fan, but mushrooms and tomatoes are delicious!
Mushrooms are part of the yeast family whereas the other three have been linked to migraines.
Egg whites is an odd one as I like the white and hate the yolk but they aren't a massive staple in my diet so that's no problem.

-

I started my new meal plan on Sunday, and as I found dinner the hardest meal to organise, I wanted to share the recipes I loved.
A couple of these do have some dairy add ons, such as cheese on top but I skipped these bits and they were still absolutely delicious!

Over the next few weeks and months I'm going to post updates about what I'm eating and how I'm feeling in a hope that if someone else feels like they're stuck in a hole this might just be the rope they need to get out!

Work Wear Wardrobe

Work wear has never really stirred up excitement within me. I've worn uniform for too long and I have images of ill fitting navy suits with saggy tights terrifying me. But as I'm currently studying accountancy, I'm starting to look for potential jobs and interviews, and that opens the work wear dilemma for me. What on earth do I wear?!

I don't want to spend my money on clothes that will purely be worn to an office, I want the flexibility to dress my work wear down and to keep one integrated wardrobe.

I haven't yet bought any work pieces, but I know I'll be heading down the fitted skirt and structured blazer route. Hard work and long hours will no doubt mean, on occasion, I'll be going straight from work to being out with friends and I want it to be as simple as changing my top!

This skirt and heels might be a little more risqué than what will probably be allowed but they're currently the most office worthy pieces I own and so they're the perfect example of how easily they can transition into your casual wardrobe!

Beauty Review: Burt's Bees

Burt's Bees has been my lips saviour.

I used to suffer so badly with dry and peeling lips. A statement lip was a no go and no matter how much lip balm I slathered on my lips they didn't improve. Turns out the balms I had being buying contained ingredients such as camphor, phenol and alcohol, soothing to begin with but they end up drying your lips out further.

Originally a little naive I had always ignored Burt's Bee's as I didn't realise they did multiple flavours and after once smelling and tasting the cherry one I was thoroughly put off. Fast forward to the aisles of my local Boot's and I find pomegranate, mango and many more. I chose pomegranate for my first time and I was hooked. This time I went for mango and it is just as delicious and amazing!

Incredibly nourishing, you can feel the product on your lips for a long time but not in a sticky or thick way! After its all soaked I'm no longer scrabbling to reapply!

You can find Burt's Bees in lots of places including Boots and Superdrug!

March Wish List

I might not be able to buy any new items at the moment but there's nothing wrong with window (or laptop) shopping!
I've been searching for perfect pieces that will move easily from my Winter/Spring wardrobe right through to Summer/Autumn.

It's been a long time since I've felt genuine panic over items not being in my wardrobe and I've got so excited over these eight pieces that I wanted to share them!

Beauty Review: Skin Republic Sheet Masks

My skin has taken a bit of a nose dive recently. My face is red and oily on my T-zone, and dry everywhere else, my body included. So I was desperately hoping these little packets from Skin Republic would give me the boost my body so badly needed!

I've never used sheet masks before so this was a very strange experience. I've not included photos of myself demonstrating the mask as I look like a slightly less murderous Hannibal Lecter, yet still pretty scary (and hilarious)!

The masks were a lot wetter than I expected and in hindsight the bathroom would have been a better place to apply them as my laptop did not appreciate the splattering..

-

The CoQ10+ Caviar mask is meant to revitalise and nourish your skin, enhance and protect your skins elasticity and reduce redness, win win.
This is a product recommended to be used once or twice a month, so in terms of my skins appearance I didn't notice an obvious difference after use but it definitely felt moisturised, refreshed and the tightness had gone!

-

Hand Repair and Foot Repair both claim to be intensely moisturising containing Shea Butter and many other natural ingredients. All being 20 minute long treatments, you'll have wonderfully soft and smooth hands and feet in no time! Just make sure you wipe off the bottom of your feet because if you make any sudden movements, you might go sliding like I did! Again these products suggest once or twice a month to reap the benefits!

I've never been one to pay as much attention as I should to my body's moisture levels and your face, hands and feet feel the effects most. If all I need from now on is 20 minutes once or twice a month to replenish my bodies moisture levels then I'm going to be coming back to these masks time and time again!
