Christmas Party

It's the Christmas party season, a time to be happy and excited but I've met so many people freaking out that they can't find the perfect party dress, including me, so this year I gave up and went for a two piece!

This skirt is by far one of my favourite pieces I've ever owned as its so incredibly versatile, one minute I'm in the 60's and the next back in 2015!

Jumper Dresses and Over The Knees

I've been dying to find myself a pair of over the knee boots since last winter but as I'm not the most confident of souls I didn't think I could pull them off. This year I decided to throw caution to the wind and go for it.

My only problem now was trying to decide which pair I liked best, so after splashing the cash on three pairs I chose these beauties from public desire.

They sit slightly higher on the leg than the other pairs meaning they don't fall down, and they also have a slightly shorter heel (half an inch makes all the difference), making them comfier and keeping me just below my boyfriends height.

Ripped Jeans and Leopard Print

There's always been certain fashion trends that I've steered clear of, but apparently, one by one they seem to be pulling me in.

I've always seen women rocking the ripped jeans look but I've never really 'got it', always questioning why you would spend money on a pair that had already been partially destroyed but I decided to go against my original judgement and give them a try!
I fell in love..
I'm still not convinced buy the pairs with just a simple slit, I don't see the point, you might as well go the whole way or not at all, the ones I love have texture and interest, they could have a whole other life (let's hope it's one unworn) and could tell a story.

Leopard print is my other bad offender. Sadly it's been given a bad rep over the years by being branded far too often as a chavvy accessory worn buy the dodgy looking girl in hollyoaks and I can't deny that's how I felt every time I saw a printed item but with most things in life, gloss it over with some tlc, sharpen it up and you having an undeniable power pump that you can not take off my feet!

Winter Lips

Forever Styling has always been a style blog with a sprinkling of beauty and lifestyle but as my interest for beauty has not waned through the years I've decided to bump it up and give it a more regular spot!

I'm still a newbie to beauty reviews and I'm currently waiting on an tech upgrade to help give my photos that studio finish, but if you have any tips or techniques or things that I should be including then please let me know!

It's the winter season, and whilst most are heading straight for the vampy dark look I'm still trying to mix it up! I do love a dark lipstick and there are two included in this post but in winter you can't forget about the timeless nude lip and occasional pop of colour to warm up those icy nights!!

-

Colour Sensational - Tantalising Taupe 725  - Maybelline

Sadly the block/my photography doesn't bring across the true colour of the lipstick. I have quite pink lips naturally so I love using this when I want to focus on my eyes and keep my lips nuetral.
It's super creamy and moisturising so my lips feel nourished and it also works as a great base if you don't want your natural lip colour tainting a different look!

Lasting Finish Lipstick - Starry Eyed 128 - Rimmel

I love this one for when I want to get my vamp on! It's a gorgeous purple tone which I always head for, I've had bad experiences of dark lipsticks with blue undertones, they just make me look ill!
Its such a buildable product and also works great as a tint if you just want a hint of purple. It's glides over the lips but I found it was slightly drying as it wore so keep a lip balm handy!

-

Stay Pout - Rule Breaker - Seventeen

This is very similar to my second lipstick but being a redder hue its a much more achievable look if you're not ready to commit to the dark route. Again its a buildable product so you can stay with a hint of colour or go full on vixen. It's a creamier texture that leaves my lips looking smooth all day.

Matte Lipstick - Peachy Keen - MUA

In winter I sometimes want to be reminded of sunnier days with a pop of colour on my lips.
I've always been a fan of coral tones and own multiple! I love how saturated this product is, such a little creates an intense colour, its only downfall is that, as its a matte lipstick is it very drying on the lips, so make sure you exfoliate and moisturise your lips well first!!
To make me love it even more, it has a little pot of the colour in the base of the tube so that if you prefer to apply with a brush you wont ruin your block!

Please let me know your thoughts on this post! :)

Modern 60's

I saw a post on Facebook the other day that said in five years time (nearly four, yelp) it will in fact, be the twenties again! Not sure whether it will be quite so roaring this time around but a girl can hope.

It made me realise just how many eras there are, with such distinct fashion and trends - not all of which are horrendous - that we overlook. It could be a case of  'the grass is always greener on the other side' but I feel like I grew up in the wrong time!

This outfit made me feel that all I was missing were a pair of knee high platforms and I could have been in the 60's wiggling into my mini skirt alongside Twiggy.

Skirts With Ankle Boots

I'm not a big fan of boots, although you wouldn't believe me if you saw my collection.
Getting them on and off takes extra time and I hate having hot feet but they work with some many different styles that this winter I'm determined to incorporate them into my outfits!

I've never been sure about ankle boots with skirts, although I'm quite fortunate by having longer legs I've always felt ankle boots chop them off, but I am a fan of a short skirt and as they make my legs look longer, they counteract the ankle cut, perfect!

Dressing Down With Knitwear

My wardrobe is based around versatility. It's rare when I by an item of clothing with just one outfit or occasion in mind. I want to stretch my wardrobe (and money) as far as I can.
I think its possible to dress up or down nearly anything.

This faux suede skirt I like to think is one of my dressier pieces but with most evenings and weekends spent in a casual setting I didn't want to reserve it for my more upmarket evenings.

Knitwear is a brilliant way to dress down pieces. I'm not sure if it's the texture, material or style but for me it always works!

I'm disappointed with this post purely because of my computer. My lovely friend Jack was editing my photographs for me but I seem to be in an upward struggle with technology and with virus' springing up on my laptop I was unable to download his images or plug in my phone so I had to makeshift the edits myself.
But thank you Jack for your hard work and I hope you guys will being seeing pictures done by him very soon!!
