August Wishlist

Summer should still be fully underway but  the gods seem to have other plans, with the frequent winds and showers we've been getting I've gone for mainly summer pieces that will look fab layered, with tights or some beautiful boots!

Summer Dress Series Two

But as time has gone by I've grown confident that 'no my shoulders aren't too big to wear them' and 'yes I can find a bra that works'.
Stripes seem to be a theme that has developed within my style over the last year or two and at one point I was struggling to wear a top that didn't have lines on it. So like a magpie to a gem I fell in love with both the bardot and the stripes of this dress!

Summer Dress Series One

For the past couple of years I have struggled and struggled to find summer dresses that I adore, but this year I succeeded and just couldn't stop so over the next few posts you'll be seeing a mini summer dress series!

My recent holiday to Turkey was absolutely incredible, but being in 40 degree heat all day long, I ended up resembling a sweaty tomato.. So although they don't look quite as glamorous without the palm trees swaying in the back ground, I'm holding out hope for some sunshine to follow me home and make my photos a little more tropical!!

Travel: Turkey, Olu Deniz

I'm currently in the depth of holiday blues. I was in beautiful scorching sunshine, I boarded a plane, and then I was back in grey clouds and rain!

I've spent a week in the beautiful south west corner of Turkey, Olu Deniz. Protected by scenic mountains and overlooking beautiful beaches and blue lagoons, it was a little piece of paradise in what is currently a country in despair.

From the moment we stepped off the plane we were met by such friendly and helpful locals that were so clearly eager to make your trip enjoyable, from our transfer driver to our masseuse.

-

We stayed in the beautiful Sun City Beach Club Hotel. Filled with olive and palm trees, bright vibrant flowers and summer tunes it felt truly tropical. Our hotel had its own spa centre, so when in Turkey, we felt it only right to have a Turkish bath. It was certainly an experience and I suspect most aren't usually as full of life as ours were.. There were water fights, bubble fights, sliding over marble tables and also the real side of the bath with exfoliation, washing, face masks and massage.

-

For such a tiny part of the country there are certainly so much to do, we went quad biking through the woods and tracks and although we didn't see many views, the mountains looked fantastic and we definitely had a wonderful time!
Paragliding is a must! Sadly we left it too late and ran out of money but seeing the footage from other gliders, the views look outstanding, truly breathtaking! It's definitely on my to-do list! There are boat trips and tours of the blue lagoon, scuba diving, jet skiing, and that's just a few!

-

I travelled to turkey with my boyfriend and his family for a wedding. Although I have only been to a handful of weddings myself, I don't think words or pictures could truly describe the beauty of that day. The vows were on a jetty in a secluded bay overlooking the sea and the mountains. The hotel reception was nestled within the mountain with the backdrop of an infinity pool, the sea and the most incredible sunset.  I couldn't be happier or more grateful to be considered part of the family to be welcomed to join in their day!

By far, Turkey is one of the best holidays I have ever experienced.

Life Update: We Have A Puppy..

When I was three, my parents bought me a little toy West Highland Terrier, that day they made a big mistake. For the last 19 years I have relentlessly wanted a Westie, and after making many excuses, they eventually ran out!

Countless months, phone calls and emails later, on a day of coincidences I got an email from the Kennel Club saying a new litter was available! Fast forward three weeks and I finally had my Rosie Dog!

She is the most adorable bundle of joy and so full of personality but I can't lie and say the last couple of months have been easy, because they've been an awful lot harder than any of us expected and there are definitely no instructions for this!

If anyone wanting a dog takes any advice, I would say research until your fingers fall off! How big they get, how much exercise they will need, personality traits and training methods - not all of them will work for your dog but you'll find something that fits!

Terriers are renowned for being strong minded little pickles and Rosie has definitely lived up to that but day by day she's getting better!!

I'm so excited for the coming years and watching my puppy become a dog, she's grown so much already..

Beautiful Embroidery

I very much believe you get what you pay for in life and that picking quality over quantity is always a winner!

Embroidery is such a beautiful craft, a mix of technique, design and medium.

Although I think it's hard to beat the magic that comes from bespoke hand embroidery, the designs produced by machine are often so much more elaborate, that they are breathtaking in their own right.

I recently wrote a post about how I was never a fan of trousers and since finding jeans I've stuck to a skinny high waisted style (you can find that here) but I seem to have changed and I instantly fell in love with these jeans when Topshop decided to tease me through their Facebook page, so I decided to venture into new territory!

I went slightly cropped with these, partly because my usual length was out of stock, but I'm so glad I did as it almost makes them look more fitted. These beauties also come in regular blue denim, but I decided to embrace the cream and try something a bit different (if I had the money, the blue ones would totally be mine too!).

I have to keep reminding myself they're not supposed to be tight fitting and although I'm falling for this new look, the style is definitely taking some getting used to!

Beauty Review: Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hour Colour Lipstick

For me, red is a sign of confidence.
A punchy red lip is going to be looked at, so you want to do it well, and to do that, you need the right product..

You want staying power and saturated colour, yet a formula nourishing enough you don't end up with the dreaded chapped lips..

Maybellines Super Stay 24 Hour Colour in Red Passion 510 is my new go to red lip! Although I needed a second coat to ramp up the coverage, it's bold, it's sassy and it's brilliant.

Super easy applicator brush, it's soft to use and applies just the right amount to cover each lip.
It firstly dries matte (left hand swatch shown below), but to add moisture and a slight sheen the product includes a balm to keep your lip statement lasting longer (Although some glare has occurred, the right swatch shown below is with the balm).

I'm yet to test the 24 hour staying ability (I'm getting old..) but it did stand up against drinking, eating and brushing my teeth so for me, it's a winner!

You can find this colour and many more at most high street stores, such as Boots and Superdrug!

Updating My Jean Collection

Coming into a new season I always like to go back through my wardrobe and see how I can make it better. I want to make it more clean, streamlined, versatile and most importantly a closer representation of my personal style!
Jeans are a wardrobe staple so they seemed like a good place to start! I used to hate trousers, at school the only pairs I owned were for sport but the time came when I had to take the plunge and I started with Topshop denim.. and so far that's where I've stayed. I started out with the Leigh jeans but I've decided to have an update and I've moved onto Jamie!
Higher waisted, thicker and what feels like a higher quality fabric, they give me a smoother style and I happen to think a smoother silhouette..

Trying even a slightly different jeans style scared me, but it wasn't as bad as I first thought! Who know's I might branch into other styles and maybe even different brands..

June Wishlist

I can't believe it's June already! I'm starting to wonder where the sunshine and rising temperatures are?!
It certainly doesn't feel like summer yet and it's not looking good for us Brits which is why a holiday to sunny Turkey was necessary.
I can't wait to be sunning myself with a cocktail in hand, and to mark such a wonderful occasion, new clothes were obviously a must, so this month's wishlist are my favourite holiday picks..

Limited Edition Frills

Shopping vouchers are just the best thing.
They're the only way I can shop without feeling a bit guilty!

I was given a Marks and Spencer voucher for Christmas, and although at first I was dreaming of all the mouth watering food I could fill my basket with, I saw this super cute top on my way in and I put the basket down..
Cropped, stripy and a sweet frill around the edges, if I was in anyway unsure, after seeing it was limited edition, I knew I couldn't risk missing it!

Why does something being labelled 'Limited Edition' make you want it more?
If you're like me, then you need to get your hands on it quick before it goes!

Finding My Motivation

It's been a rocky couple of weeks for Forever Styling, my energy hit the floor and the pages are looking a little bare.

I do love my blog though, so to re-find my motivation I began trawling the Internet. It's known that the blogging world is becoming more and more saturated. People wanting to share their passions and post about things they love, which is not necessarily a bad thing!
It means that there are so many more people and blog's to inspire you and help you find your mojo (Austin Powers who..).

Therefore to get myself back into the swing of things I've put together my personal guide to the bloggers I find most inspirational..

So incredibly jealous and admiring of her life, spanning the divide between high street and high end, she has the wardrobe we all want (and need!). Full of beautiful images and inspirational words, In The Frow has been a favourite of mine for years. She covers a great span of genres and writes about everything with such passion that that starts to become infectious! Her blog pushes me to take more time and care over my photographs!

-

Kristina's wardrobe is my designer wishlist. Kayture is my day dream blog, where I go when I want to believe my life could be full of jet setting and the most incredible wardrobe! She's covered magazines, endless campaigns and has her own book. She is the epitome of blogging success! Kayture pushes my blogging goals to the extreme but she proves they are possible!

-

Megan's posts are always so open and honest about life, reading her posts I often feel more that I'm listening to a friend than reading from a screen. She does the personal post's in such a way that stops you being shy about it! Combined with beautiful photography and personal shoots this blog is one of my top bookmarked! Wonderful You always makes me realise that personal life posts enhance a blog, motivating me to be more forthcoming with life!

-

The girl next door of the blogging world, she's the blogger you could imagine being your best friend. I first found her through her fitness posts and those killer abs keep my exercise regime on track (jealousy!). Fashion posts full of super cute outfits and frank chats about life, I head here when I'm looking for daily inspo! She's a wonderful reminder that self confidence is so important!

-

Rocking serious style her outfits are at the foremost of most of her posts and I don't blame her. I have a serious style crush on this lady. She's so relateable through her writing and the topics she chooses that I can't stop coming back to her blog! Megan makes me realise when I'm stuck in a wardrobe rut, not mixing it up enough and not taking enough risks, so I always end up rethinking and injector some fun!

Who motivates you to do better and/or be your best?

Never miss a post with Bloglovin..

Kylie Jenner Dupe

Recently I've been getting much more into lips! Lipsticks, liners, glosses, tints, there are just so many colours, shades and finishes to choose from that boredom is not possible.

Although I have heard as many, if not more, bad reviews about Kylie Jenners Lip Kits, I still want one! Posie and Mary Jo are the dream, but in the mean time I've been concocting my own mixture to achieve the same look.

I bought Mac's Soar Lipliner on a whim, I had heard lots of bloggers rave about it and although I hadn't even drawn it over my hand, let alone lips, I went for it!
Wonderfully pigmented, it glides on amazingly and leaves a clean matte finish! But I wanted moisture and something extra so one day I decided to pop my Maybelline Liostick over the top and it's perfect and could even be Posey!

May Wish List

May already, where on earth has that come from?! I feel like I've blinked and the last five months have passed me by! But now we're into Spring, and Summer is getting even closer I'm now hoping it will all slow down and the light evenings won't come to an end too quickly!

In honour of the increasing sunshine and temperatures I'm going for pieces that won't leave me running for a jacket but still allow me to get my vitamin D intake!

First Impressions: Clinique Skincare

I never used to take an interest in skincare (I hear your gasps), I thought a face wipe, a sweep of toner and a smidge of moisturiser was enough. Yet I still cried when my skin felt like it was slowly dying!

Apart from the occasional intruder, spots were a rare sighting, yet they gradually became more frequent. My skin tone was uneven and red and my pores could practically be seen from space.
I'm using the past tense as although I have only been using these products for a few weeks I can already notice a difference.

It was the most wonderful lady that helped and advised me to go with these products. We chatted to discover what skin type I had and what I felt were my problem areas before she talked me through each product and how they would work on their own and as a collection. I could not fault her service!

-

Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes and Lips is hands down the BEST one I have ever used. I've already caused premature lines over the years around my eyes from excessive rubbing to remove my layers of mascara and eyeliner, yet now not a single rub is needed, the battle is over! Hold it on for a few seconds, swipe and its practically all gone! Take The Day Off Cleansing Milk is also just as powerful and soothing!

-

I was never certain with a makeup wipe that I had removed not only all my makeup but also the daily dirt and grim that builds up on the skin, but this Liquid Facial Soap ensures that I've got it all. Non drying, I'm no longer racing for my moisturiser yet my face still feels squeaky clean.

-

Bursting with salicylic acid, the Clarifying Lotion is the last step on the dirt removal road by breaking down dead skin cells, helping to reduce and prevent the build up of black heads.

-

Super moisturising non greasy lotion, the Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion relieves any tightness my skin might have and leaves a perfect base for makeup to go over!
My only criticism of the whole range is that this moisturiser has a slightly musky smell to it, which isn't offensive in anyway yet isn't as delightful as it could be!

-

I no longer wake up with dry and itchy eyes! Dark circles are an evil I have suffered with all my life and although they are very much still there, thanks to the All About Eyes Rich, they no longer seem to stand out as much as they used to!
