Bold With Black

There's a reason black is a favourite for most wardrobes; drama, contrast, edge. It can push an outfit from being just good, to being great! I think black is the only colour (tone?!) that you can't go wrong with. Too much is not a thing!

Take away my DIY choker and my heels and my outfit is seriously lacking in something. Add them in and I'm feeling pretty darn good in it!

Beauty Review: Illamasqua Nailvarnishes

I love a good pampering session, and for me one step I never ignore is my nails!
Through experimenting with new colours each season or trying to find replacements for my old favourites I've established quite a lengthy high street collection over the years!
I decided to up the price tag and try out some slightly higher end nail varnishes from the beauty giant Illamasqua.

I've read articles in the past that claim all nail varnishes are exactly the same make up and all that changes is the shade they choose, the packaging it goes into and the price tag but I'm just not convinced!

I've often bought what I thought were gorgeous metallic shades but after adding a top coat and waiting a day, the sheen that I was after seems to disappear, whereas with these I have that steely shine until the nail varnish remover gets brought out!

'Element'

The consistency is a perfect medium, it's not too sheer or too thick so in two layers you get an intense colour with a gorgeous shine!

'Charisma'

I always recommend a base coat and a top coat for true staying power!
I can't have my nails painted for work but in between shift patterns I've kept these nail varnishes on for five days completely chip free and I'm looking forward to my holiday to see if they last even longer!

One day soon I'm hoping to upgrade to a gel nail kit, but for now I'm sticking to my trusty bottles!

Cape Layering

The temperature definitely dropped this week, and I've never been one to have a well stocked winter wardrobe so when I'm running out of space under my coat its time to pull out my cape.

I'm still hoping for a personalised Burberry cape one day, but for now, my Asos one ticks all the boxes.

50/50 Wardrobe

I try to keep my wardrobe 50/50. Half seasonal pieces and half transitional pieces.

Questionable with British summertime but I would usually retire pieces like my jumper dress come mid spring as it will be far too cosy for the rising temperatures, but there will be plenty of strappy tops and thin cardigans to take its place. Whereas pieces like my cut out boots will be keeping me dry all year through as we all know the rainy days are inevitable. Other go-to transitional pieces are jeans, leather jackets and light weight jumpers and scarves, perfect for layering when needed!

Red Boots

Skirts and ankle boots is a look I've recently discovered that I love. You can find another post on this style here..
I used to hate boots, absolutely hate them. I hate my feet being warm and the feeling of being constricted, but this year has been the winter where I've over come my phobia and I now own the most ridiculous amount of boots for someone who dislikes them! There are just too many different styles that I want to be able to wear that I can no longer solely stick to pumps all year round like I used to!
I've seen lots of pairs of boots this season in every different shade of red, in patent, in leather and in suede so I thought I would jump in on the action and showcase my beauties!

Outfit Roundup Of 2015

If I find an outfit or style that I love, it is going to be celebrated and brought out time and time again..
I probably should have done this post in January but it's better late than never, I've decided to do a round up of my favourite outfits from 2015 and hopefully you'll see them through the new year with a 2016 update!

-

Waterfall coat, statement clutch, cut out boots, there's so many elements in this outfit. Thankfully all of which should come back into season year on year!

-

This dress. That's all that's needed really! After my prom dress this is the only gown I've ever worn and I would wear it everyday if I could! I'm praying for another upcoming event so I have an excuse to get it out again as something this beautiful shouldn't be worn just once!!

-

You will find me wearing this top regularly throughout summer, its one of my absolute favourites and I deeply regret not buying it in the other colours too! I also think my hair looks fab.. and I'm super proud that I did it myself!

-

This skirt is the dream. It's such a beautiful dusky rose and incredibly flattering. You can see that I was also in an 'off the shoulder' phase last summer and I can confirm that that will be coming back in 2016!

-

Waistcoats became another favourite of mine as they're so easy to layer up and style! I also changed up my skirts, going from skater skirts to A-line for the first time!

-

Another waistcoat! And my go-to jeans, one thing I want to do in 2016 is branch out in the trouser department! I don't have many pairs and currently when I want to wear trousers I'm confined to only two.

-

My beloved leather jacket is one of my best purchases, but being slightly cropped it doesn't offer me enough protection through winter, so this year it will be featured alot more from spring through to Autumn!

-

High necks matched with A-line skirts is a look I really got into in the second half of the year! I'm not sure what gives me that 60's feel but I just love it. This will definitely be a style that will be coming back this new year!

-

Jumper Dresses and Over The Knees - December 2015

My last two purchases of 2015 and I think I made pretty excellent choices. After a long time spent lusting, 2015 was finally the year I got my over the knee boots and I wasn't disappointed! Sadly not a style for the warmer months, these will be getting a lot of wear before the time to pack them away comes!

Do you have any favourite styles that will be making a comeback in 2016?

February Wish List

This month Asos have given me some major spring vibes.. I've gone for neutrals mixed with light prints.
It might not be balmy just yet, but the suns been showing itself a little bit more recently so there's nothing wrong with lusting after warmer climates!

What pieces are you lusting after this month?
